7075 T6 Aluminium Sprockets On Road Section
ACC Billet Engineering is a South African based company specializing in aftermarket motorcycle accessories and special parts.
We CNC machine motorcycle sprockets from 7075 T6 aluminium for strength and durability and are supplied in hard face anodising in a grey/gunmetal colour
7075 is the hardest and it is heat-treatable and machinable, heat-treating makes it stronger and CNC machining is one of the most common ways of machining the metal into various parts for motorcycles.
The T6 is an indicator for if it is heat-treated and how it is done. T stands for “Temper” and the numbers indicate which process it went through; T1 and T2 are a cooling processes, T3 and T4 are heat-treated, T5 is cooled, T6 and T7 are heat-treated. The T6 level is created when the 7075 aluminum is heated to 450 degrees Celsius for several hours, then quickly cooled and then aged at 120 degrees celsius for a full day. This process allows for the aluminium to withstand pressure when the aftermarket motorcycle parts machined from 7075T6 aluminium are used on bikes that are used on rugged or off road terrain.
Why fit different sprockets
Your gearing ratio is the ratio of teeth between the front and rear sprockets. This ratio determines how engine RPM is converted into wheel speed by the bike. Changing sprocket sizes, front or rear, will change this ratio, and therefore changes the power of your bike
We are able to machine sprockets for circuit racing, motor cross as well as the larger 65 tooth sprockets for freestyle stunt motorcycles.
We also cater for the 1 off special requests. We will gladly machine products as per your specs should stock not be available.
